World Trotting Conference is well started in Oslo

On the opening day Saturday the Minister of agriculture in Norway officially opened the conference. The guests from all over the world has also experienced the celebration of the Norwegian national day, 17th of May.

Day 1.

The main theme was the european polical situation regarding gambling. An interview made with European Parliament Member Christel Schaldemose especially for the occasion was shown on video. Further Knut Almestad, former President of the EFTA Surveillance Authority also had an presentation about the jurdical aspects connected to it.
During the day there was also time for a cultural element. Knut Buen played the violin, an children from Bygdø Leikarring showed Norwegian folk dance.

In the evening the World Driving Championship competitors joined the conference for dinner, and Thomas Gjelsås who is ceremony master in the WDC gave a presentation of the drivers and a summary so far in the championship.

17th of May

Many of the guests had never before experienced how norwegians celebrate our national day. The childrens parade with more than 100 schools marching passed the royal castle with music and flags was special to many of the delegates and accompanying people. The weather was also nearly perfect for the day.
After lunch the trotting interested people expanded their horizons a bit, when visitng Øvrevoll racetrack at the gallop races. 

Day 2

The theme of the day was marketing. The conference got extensive presentations from the situation in France, both by Jacqes Chartier, and President of PMU, Bertrand Belinguer. Also Scandinavia was represented, as Remy Nilsson from ATG and Harald Dørum and Håkon Smerud from Norsk Rikstoto presented their companies' marketing strategies.
